Works by Fuentes, Montilla, Bennet, Brahms, Debussy, Hindemith, Honegger, Schumann, Schoeck, Vaughn Willams, Wilder; "Sonata Corrente" by Alex Guebert with the composer as pianist, and selections from Spohr's "German Songs" with Ariadne Greif, soprano, as assisting artist.
Saturday, June 18, 8PM --"NEW MUSIC FOR CLARINET ENSEMBLES." Mabel Bridges Hall of Music.
Quartets, Trios, and Clarinet Choir of Participants, plus guest artists from the Los Angeles Clarinet Choir perform works by Composer-in-Residence, Jonathan Russell, and composers Taruya, Kibbe, Curtis, Vaughn Williams and more. Margaret Thornhill, Jonathan Russell, and Wendy Mazon conduct.
2011 participating clarinetists include Carmen Aleman, Elizabeth Dinsel, Andrew Friedman, Christin Hablewitz, Eva Hagan, Nicolina Logan, Wendy Mazon, Charlotte Palmiter, Ann Satterfield, David Seta, Nicola Spaldin, Steve White, and child prodigy Andrew Moses. Pianists are Twyla Meyer and Althea Waites.
