The 2013 Clarinet Festival will bring together an intimate group of 16 clarinetists for 7 days of performance, study, and sharing with clarinet coach Dr. Margaret Thornhill, clarinet and ensemble coach Dr. Wendy Mazon, faculty pianists Twyla Meyer and Althea Waites, and 2013 guest artists, the avant-garde bass clarinet duo SQWONK (Jonathan Russell and Jeff Anderle.)

Come join us in Lyman Recital Hall and the Mabel Bridges Hall of Music on the beautiful Pomona College Campus as we explore the solo and ensemble repertoire in interactive masterclasses, rehearse, perform in recital, play in clarinet quartets and a massed clarinet choir, and do constructive and critical listening to each other.

Participation is open to advanced adult players: young artists, graduate and undergraduate college clarinet majors, amateur chamber musicians, music educators, and exceptional high school seniors.

Tuition includes: performance in two masterclasses and two recitals, one private lesson, up to four private piano coachings, performance in the clarinet ensemble concert, attendance at all masterclasses and guest sessions.

A live audition or recorded performance sample is required from all new applicants. Please send us two movements from contrasting recital pieces. CD, DVD, YouTube, or Mp3 files are acceptable.

Foreign students are very welcome. Please note that we are unable to help you obtain a student visa.
